Chhun On Golf Resort (Lakes Course) Description:

Nestled just an hour’s drive north of Phnom Penh’s bustling downtown, along National Road #130 in Chhveang Village, lies the exquisite Chhun On Golf Resort. This emerging golf haven, positioned conveniently within reach of the Royal Palace, National Museum, and the city’s myriad tourist attractions, is set to redefine the golfing landscape in Cambodia.

The resort, under the masterful design of Brian Curley from Schmidt-Curley Design, is developing two distinct 18-hole courses. The first, The Lakes Course, is gearing up for its grand opening in late February 2024, marking a new chapter in Phnom Penh City’s golf offerings. Following closely in 2025, The Palms Course will make its debut, further enhancing the resort’s allure.

Both courses are meticulously planned with five different tee boxes to cater to a range of golfers, with the black tee box extending over an impressive 7300 yards. Brian Curley emphasizes, “Our aim is to prioritize the golf experience, crafting the finest courses in the country. Each layout is distinct, fulfilling our ambition to provide a unique and varied golfing journey.”

The courses are adorned with Zoysia Zeon fairways and tee boxes, and Zoysia primo greens – a grass variety renowned for its use in prestigious courses like Hoiana, Sentosa, and Stones hill in Bangkok. This choice not only ensures top-notch playing surfaces but also adds to the courses’ aesthetic appeal.

A striking feature of the resort is the island-green nineteenth hole, strategically positioned between the two finishing holes. This bonus hole, sitting beneath the clubhouse, is accessible only by boat, offering an exhilarating challenge and a picturesque conclusion to either course.

Brian Curley proudly states, “We are thrilled with the design and innovative elements we’ve incorporated. We believe these courses will rapidly become the most sought-after in the region for their creativity and quality.”

Chhun On Golf Resort is poised to be a premier golfing destination, offering an unparalleled experience that combines challenging play with breathtaking beauty, set in the heart of Cambodia’s vibrant capital.
